This case represents a common situation when presence of post-endodontic disease requires a clinical decision. Should teeth be extracted or endodontic Re-Tx should be prescribed? Evaluation by an endodontist can provide both patients and dentists with clear understanding of available Tx. options and expected outcomes.
In this case a non-surgical microendodontic Re-Tx was accepted by all involved parties as the best way to restore patient’s dental health. During re-treatment, signs of coronal leakage and untreated endodontic anatomy were found and addressed. One year follow up confirmed normal healing and function.
